Reasons that value and quality are not prioritized is the lack of care regarding customer data.
So many companies have been hacked and are complacent regarding customer experience. They rarely take a stock hit or get bad reviews. There are no longer consequences to having sloppy code.
As consumers we are getting used to bad performance and as we lose the ability to use off line means to complete work, we are practically held hostage to bad software.
